Watoto Foundation Tanzania was founded in 2003 and is dedicated to supporting street boys in and around Arusha.
Stop ‘sex for fish’: WA-WA trains women along lake Victoria (East-Africa) to no longer trade sex for fish in order to generate income for their families.
About the initiative
The aim of the organisation is to empower local women; to economically support and promote human rights for the vulnerable population along the lake in order to achieve an equal and just society:
- Stop sex for fish
- Less spread of HIV
- Women receive vocational training
- Women generate income for their families
- increased cohesiveness within the communities
That's why we donate to WA-WA
WA-WA supports, promotes and empowers fisher folk women, youth and children affected by socio-economic injustices around Lake Victoria region that leads to high poverty index and serious health risks.
Our support to WA-WA is connected coaching of the founder by ImpactDirect in Nairobi.
